Poem By Skip Watt
From Vicki Alderman/Watt's thoughts on Hospice
Has Spring arrived…we’ve waited for …some sign of flowered leaves,
for now we see and smell it here…the sunshine’s warmth does please,
that feelings great… I love to see ….God’s beauty all around,
and yes I wait to dig again… to feel the moist wet ground.
The feelings great…of being close….to nature and to God,
I plant a seed of my desire…. in pot with sun and sod,
and then I watch the miracle…of life spring forth and growing,
the bees come gather nectar sweet…once full enough they’re going.
The morning sun begins to roast…revealing nights dew needed most,
the flowers stand as if to reach… and praise a loving heavenly host,
the trees long limbs with leaves in place…resemble children clustered safe,
and for their care all summer long….the fall gives leaves of colored song.
Once summer’s gone…the Fall is lazy…the sky is filled with winter hazy,
the tree and flower do not need…their leaves or pedals only seed,
for once again the spring will come to usher in that Summer sun,
and life goes on for ever more those seed were saved In God’s great store.
And now I grab those seed of God…I’ll dig and cover them with sod,
and through the dirt they’ll pop again….to blossom pretty flowers then,
repeats a loop that once began…so long ago …with God’s loving hand,
and now I know the rhyme and reason, our lives are like these very seasons.
